Barry Bonds won the National League MVP Award 7 times. His victories came in 1990, 1992, 1993, and four consecutive seasons from 2001 through 2004.
Bonds first won with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1990, then added two awards in 1992 and 1993. After joining the San Francisco Giants, he dominated the award voting again, winning every year from 2001 to 2004. That four-year streak remains the longest run of consecutive MVP awards in Major League Baseball history.
The total is especially notable because the award is voted on separately in each league, and Bonds’ seven victories are National League awards rather than a combined American League and National League count. His 2001 season also produced 73 home runs, still the single-season MLB record, while his career total reached 762 home runs.
