Roger Federer won the Wimbledon men’s singles title eight times. His victories came in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2017.
His first Wimbledon championship in 2003 was also his first Grand Slam singles title. Federer then won five consecutive Wimbledon titles from 2003 through 2007, joining an elite group of players who dominated the tournament across multiple seasons. He regained the crown in 2009 and added a seventh title in 2012 before completing his record with an eighth victory in 2017.
Federer’s Wimbledon total is specifically a men’s singles record in the Open Era and remains one of the defining marks of his career. It is sometimes confused with his six Australian Open titles or with his seven Wimbledon wins through 2012. Federer’s final Wimbledon triumph came against Marin Čilić in 2017, when he won the final in straight sets without dropping a set during the tournament.
