Five special quarter designs are planned for the 2026 United States Semiquincentennial.
The five quarters commemorate the Mayflower Compact, the American Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Gettysburg Address. They are part of a broader 2026 coin program connected to the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The quarter designs are separate from the regular Washington quarter design used in ordinary years. The program also includes special designs for other denominations, including a dime, half dollar, and dollar, while cents and nickels retain the current series designs.
The 2026 coin program follows earlier anniversary coinage. The 1975 and 1976 bicentennial program used special reverses on quarters, half dollars, and dollar coins. America250’s five-quarter set instead presents a sequence of subjects spanning the founding era, constitutional history, and the Civil War period.
