Taylor Swift’s standard edition of Folklore contains 16 songs, including “august.”
Folklore was released as a surprise album in July 2020 and initially presented a complete 16-track sequence. “august” sits within that sequence as part of the album’s interconnected fictional storytelling, alongside “cardigan” and “betty.”
The number can be confusing because Swift later issued deluxe and expanded physical editions with additional material. Those versions do not change the number of songs on the original standard edition. The album is also sometimes discussed alongside Evermore, another 2020 album with its own track count.
The 16-track total had chart significance: every song from Folklore entered the Australian singles chart’s top 50, setting a record for the most debuts there. That achievement helped show how the album’s full track list, not just its promoted songs, attracted listeners.
