Aston Villa had 10 shots in the first half of the 2026 UEFA Super Cup.
The first-half statistics recorded ten Villa attempts, compared with six from Paris Saint-Germain. Villa also registered two shots on target, matching Paris’s first-half total.
Despite producing more attempts, Aston Villa went behind when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored for Paris in the 20th minute. Villa’s pressure eventually brought a reward when Brian Madjo volleyed an equaliser in the 45th minute after a cross from John McGinn.
The first-half numbers demonstrate why possession alone does not determine a scoreline. Paris controlled 60 percent of the first-half possession, while Villa created more shots. The teams therefore reached half-time level at 1–1 even though their attacking approaches produced different statistical profiles.
