The medical drama premiered on Fox in November 2004 and concluded in May 2012. Its eight-season structure followed Gregory House and his diagnostic team through changing colleagues, hospital politics, addiction struggles, and difficult ethical cases.

The show is sometimes counted differently because its cast and medical teams changed several times. Those changes occurred within the same series, however, and did not create separate spin-offs or sequel series. The final season continued the story after House’s imprisonment and introduced new professional and personal developments at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
