House M.D. ran for eight seasons on television.
The series premiered on Fox on November 16, 2004, and its eighth and final season ended on May 21, 2012. Its run followed Gregory House, a brilliant but abrasive physician who led diagnostic investigations of unusual cases.
The show’s season count is sometimes confused with its episode count. House M.D. produced 177 episodes, so eight seasons covered a substantial broadcast run rather than a short limited series. The final season also introduced major changes to the hospital setting and House’s diagnostic team.
House M.D. was created by David Shore and produced by Shore, Katie Jacobs, and Bryan Singer among others. It became one of Fox’s best-known medical dramas and was broadcast internationally under the title House in many regions.
