House M.D. ran for eight seasons before ending in 2012.
The series premiered in 2004 and concluded after its eighth season. Its final episode, “Everybody Dies,” aired on May 21, 2012. Across the run, the show followed Dr. Gregory House and changing teams of doctors as they investigated difficult diagnoses at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
The cast and structure changed over time. House's original fellows included Robert Chase, Allison Cameron, and Eric Foreman. Later seasons introduced new doctors and gave more space to characters such as Martha Masters, Remy “Thirteen” Hadley, and Chris Taub. Lisa Cuddy also left the hospital after the seventh season, changing House's professional and personal circumstances.
Viewers sometimes count only the seasons featuring the original diagnostic team, but that produces an incorrect total. The eighth season remains part of the official series run even though its cast arrangement and hospital leadership differ from the earliest years.
