House M.D. had eight seasons before ending in 2012.
The series premiered in 2004 and completed its run with its eighth season. Across those seasons, the story followed Gregory House as he solved unusual medical cases while navigating changing diagnostic teams, hospital leadership, friendships, and professional discipline.
The early seasons established the familiar team of House, James Wilson, Lisa Cuddy, Eric Foreman, Robert Chase, and Allison Cameron. Later seasons introduced new colleagues and shifted the workplace structure, while keeping House’s diagnostic department at the center.
The season total is sometimes confused with the episode total because the show’s run was lengthy and its season counts varied in size. Eight refers to the number of production and broadcast seasons; 177 refers to the total number of episodes. The final season ended with “Everybody Dies,” broadcast in May 2012.
