Five quarters are planned in the 2026 United States Semiquincentennial coin program.
The America250 coinage program includes five commemorative quarter designs, alongside cents and nickels of the current series, a dime, a half dollar and a one-dollar coin. The program recognizes the 250th anniversary of American independence through circulating and commemorative designs.
The five-quarter total is separate from the total number of coin denominations in the broader program. That distinction matters because the complete plan includes several denominations, while only five are quarter designs.
The coinage was authorized by the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020. That law also authorized the American Women Quarters Program and other future circulating commemorative programs. The semiquincentennial coins are therefore part of a larger redesign framework, not an isolated minting decision.
