Five quarters are planned for the United States Semiquincentennial coinage program commemorating America250.
The 2026 coinage program was authorized to create special circulating and collectible designs for the nation’s 250th anniversary. The quarter is one of the denominations receiving multiple commemorative reverses rather than a single anniversary design.
The five-quarter set is part of a broader package that also includes a commemorative dime, half dollar, and one-dollar coin. Cents and nickels in the program are treated differently, with special dating or marks associated with the anniversary rather than the same group of five quarter designs.
Collectors may confuse this program with the 50-state quarters issued from 1999 through 2008 or the later America the Beautiful quarters. Those were separate programs with different purposes and schedules. The semiquincentennial quarter group is specifically tied to the 2026 national anniversary and contains five designs.
