Five quarter-dollar designs are planned for the 2026 U.S. semiquincentennial coin program.
The semiquincentennial coinage plan includes five quarters, alongside commemorative designs for a dime, half dollar, and one-dollar coin. The cent and nickel remain part of the current series but are not listed among the denominations receiving the same commemorative treatment.
The quarter has frequently been used for national commemorative programs because it circulates widely and already supports special multi-design series. The America250 quarters are part of a broader coin program authorized by the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020.
The five-quarter figure is easy to confuse with the 50-state quarter program, which ran from 1999 to 2008, or the American Women Quarters Program, which began in 2022. Those are separate initiatives.
