Metallica’s 1991 album, The Black Album, has 12 principal tracks.
The sequence opens with “Enter Sandman” and closes with “The Struggle Within.” Between them are major songs including “Sad but True,” “The Unforgiven,” “Wherever I May Roam,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Of Wolf and Man.”
The album’s 12-song structure is separate from later deluxe editions and anniversary packages. Expanded reissues add demos, live performances, rough mixes, and other archival material, but those extras do not change the number of tracks on the original album sequence.
On the original vinyl configuration, the songs were divided across four sides: tracks 1–3 on side A, 4–6 on side B, 7–9 on side C, and 10–12 on side D. That layout reflects the album’s original double-LP presentation.
