Damian Lillard scored 31 points in his playoff debut in 2014. The Portland Trail Blazers guard reached that total on April 20, 2014, against the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference first round.
Portland won the dramatic game 122–120 in overtime. Lillard played nearly 46 minutes and also contributed nine rebounds and five assists, helping the Trail Blazers steal home-court advantage. Teammate LaMarcus Aldridge was even more explosive, scoring 46 points and grabbing 18 rebounds.
The game was notable because Lillard was only in his second NBA season. His 31 points made him the first player since LeBron James in 2006 to record at least 31 points and nine rebounds in his first career playoff game. The performance also established Lillard as the only Trail Blazer to score at least 30 points in a playoff debut at that time.
