Splatoon Raiders supports four-player cooperative play. One player can play alone, or a group can team up with up to three additional players online or through local wireless play.
That structure makes the game different from a purely solo campaign while preserving its single-player focus. Nintendo describes Raiders as an action shooter designed primarily around one player, but its cooperative mode lets a full group explore, fight enemies and progress through the adventure together.
The number refers to the total party size, not the number of additional friends. Thus, “four players” means the host plus three others. It does not mean four teammates joining one host, and it is not the same format as Splatoon’s larger competitive matches.
The figure is also easy to mix up with other Nintendo multiplayer games or with the player counts associated with Splatoon’s competitive modes. Raiders’ co-op is a four-person adventure group, available online or via local wireless, rather than an eight-player battle lobby.
