Sinners won four Oscars at the 2026 Academy Awards.
The film’s victories were Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler, Best Cinematography for Autumn Durald Arkapaw, and Best Original Score for Ludwig Göransson. Jordan played twin brothers Smoke and Stack, while Coogler wrote and directed the film.
Sinners entered the ceremony with a record 16 nominations, the most ever received by a film at the Oscars. Its nominations covered major categories as well as technical and craft fields, including Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Costume Design, Film Editing, Sound, Visual Effects, and Original Song.
A common mix-up is to confuse nominations with wins: Sinners led the nomination count, but One Battle After Another took the night’s most awards with six. Sinners’ nominated song, “I Lied to You,” did not win; “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters took Original Song. The four-win total therefore refers to competitive Oscar victories, not nominations.
