Bolt won the 100 metres and 200 metres at all three Olympics, producing six individual sprint titles. He also won the 4 × 100 metres relay with Jamaica in Beijing and London. Jamaica’s original 2008 relay victory was later disqualified after Nesta Carter’s doping retest, so Bolt’s official total became eight rather than nine.
That relay reversal explains a common quiz and trivia mistake. Many older articles described Bolt as a nine-time Olympic champion because the 2008 relay gold was counted for years. The International Olympic Committee later stripped the team’s result, and Bolt returned his medal.
Bolt remains the only sprinter to win Olympic 100-metre and 200-metre titles at three consecutive Games. His eight-gold total still places him among the most successful Olympic track-and-field athletes, despite the retrospective relay disqualification.
