How many official evolutions does Eevee have?

Eevee has eight official evolutions in the Pokémon games.

These evolutions are commonly nicknamed the “Eeveelutions”: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. Each one represents a different type, giving Eevee unusually broad evolutionary variety.

The first three appeared in Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue: Vaporeon is Water-type, Jolteon is Electric-type, and Flareon is Fire-type. Espeon and Umbreon arrived in Gold and Silver, Leafeon and Glaceon in Diamond and Pearl, and Sylveon in X and Y.

Eevee’s evolution methods differ. Some use elemental evolution stones, while others depend on friendship, time of day, a location, or knowledge of a Fairy-type move. Eevee itself does not evolve into every type in the type chart. For example, there is no official Dragon-, Steel-, or Ghost-type Eeveelution as of 2026. Regional forms and special game mechanics do not add new official Eevee species.
