Mariah Carey has 19 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, the most among solo artists in the chart's history.
Her first chart-topper was “Vision of Love,” which reached number one in 1990. She followed it with a remarkable run that included “Love Takes Time,” “Someday,” “I Don't Wanna Cry,” and “Emotions.” Her first five singles all reached the summit, a record she remains the only artist to achieve.
The total includes collaborations credited to Carey, such as “One Sweet Day” with Boyz II Men and “Thank God I Found You” with Joe and 98 Degrees. Her nineteenth number one was “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which finally topped the Hot 100 in 2019, decades after its release.
A common mix-up is confusing number-one singles with weeks spent at number one. Carey has also led the Hot 100 for more than 90 weeks overall, but that is a separate statistic from her 19 chart-topping songs.
