The Life of a Showgirl became Taylor Swift’s 15th number-one album on the Billboard 200.
Its debut at the top extended Swift’s record total among solo artists. The Billboard 200 ranks albums in the United States using a combination of album sales, track-equivalent units, and streaming-equivalent units, rather than relying only on physical copies.
This total is different from the number of weeks The Life of a Showgirl itself spent at number one. The album’s individual chart run and Swift’s career tally measure separate things: one concerns the duration of a single release, while the other counts her albums that have reached the summit.
It is also different from her number of studio albums. Swift’s overall number-one total includes qualifying albums across her catalog, so it should not be treated as a simple count of original studio records.
