Five new quarter designs are planned for the 2026 America250 coin program.
The semiquincentennial quarter series was authorized as part of a broader redesign program for 2026. Unlike a single commemorative design, the quarter series uses five different reverses to present several episodes and documents from American history.
The announced themes include the Mayflower Compact, the American Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Gettysburg Address. Together, the subjects span events from the colonial period through the Civil War era.
This series can be confused with the America the Beautiful quarter program, which ran from 2010 through 2021 and depicted national parks and other sites. It also differs from the American Women Quarters Program, which ran from 2022 through 2025.
