Metallica's self-titled album, commonly called The Black Album, contains 12 main tracks.
The sequence begins with “Enter Sandman” and ends with “The Struggle Within.” Between them are songs such as “Sad but True,” “The Unforgiven,” “Wherever I May Roam,” and “Nothing Else Matters.”
The original vinyl configuration divided the songs across four sides, with three tracks on each side. This arrangement reflected the album's 1991 physical release format rather than a later expanded-edition track list.
Some anniversary editions and digital releases contain additional demos, live performances, and covers. Those bonus recordings are separate from the original 12-song album, which is why different editions may appear to have more tracks.
