Barry Bonds hit four home runs in the 2002 World Series.
The San Francisco Giants slugger homered in Games 1, 2, 3, and 6 against the Anaheim Angels. His first came in his first-ever World Series at-bat, a solo shot off Jarrod Washburn in Game 1. Bonds also hit a famously long home run in Game 2 at Angel Stadium.
The four homers were part of an extraordinary postseason. Bonds hit eight home runs overall in 2002, including three in the National League Division Series and one in the NL Championship Series. His eight postseason homers set a record at the time, while he also drew 27 walks because opponents frequently avoided pitching to him.
The Giants eventually lost the Series in seven games, and Angels third baseman Troy Glaus was named MVP. A common mix-up is confusing Bonds’s four World Series homers with his eight total home runs during that postseason.
