Cristiano Ronaldo scored 118 goals for Manchester United during his first stint from 2003 to 2009. He joined the club from Sporting CP in August 2003 and quickly developed from a talented teenager into one of world football’s most dangerous forwards.
Ronaldo’s goals came across all competitions, not just the Premier League. His total included goals in domestic league matches, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Champions League and other competitions. The 2007–08 season was especially prolific: he scored 42 goals for Manchester United and helped the club win both the Premier League and Champions League.
A common mix-up is confusing his 118-goal Manchester United total with his Premier League total, or with the 145 goals he scored across both of his spells at the club. Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in 2021, adding another 27 goals before leaving again in 2022. His first spell ended when Real Madrid signed him in 2009 for a then-world-record transfer fee.
