The English version of Pokémon: Indigo League contains 80 episodes.
Indigo League is the first English-named season of the Pokémon animated series. It follows Ash Ketchum's journey through the Kanto region with Pikachu, Misty, and Brock, adapting the setting and many story beats from the original Game Boy games.
The episode count differs between language versions. The Japanese first season contains 82 episodes, while the English version has 80. Two episodes were not included in the original English broadcast package: “Electric Soldier Porygon,” which was withdrawn after a seizure-inducing broadcast incident in Japan, and “Beauty and the Beach,” which was omitted from the initial English run.
The season originally aired in Japan from April 1, 1997, to January 21, 1999. In the United States, it was broadcast in first-run syndication from September 8 to November 20, 1998, with later broadcasts and releases handling some episodes differently. The 80-episode figure therefore specifically identifies the English version, not the Japanese count.
