House M.D. broadcast 177 episodes across its eight-season run.
That total includes the regular episodes shown from 2004 through 2012. The series generally used a case-of-the-week structure, but continuing stories about House, his colleagues, addiction, and hospital leadership connected many episodes across a season.
The total is not the same as the number of episodes in any individual season. Season lengths varied, and scheduling was affected by television programming decisions and production changes. Counting only episodes remembered for major character events can therefore produce an incomplete figure.
House M.D. also generated specials and promotional material, but those are not normally included in the standard series episode count. The canonical total for the scripted television series is 177 episodes, ending with the eighth-season finale “Everybody Dies.”
