Four elemental spirits appear in Frozen II: Gale, Bruni, the Nokk, and the Earth Giants.
These spirits represent air, fire, water, and earth. Gale is the playful wind spirit; Bruni is a small salamander associated with fire; the Nokk takes the form of a magical water horse; and the Earth Giants are enormous beings connected to the land and rivers.
The spirits are central to Elsa’s journey beyond Arendelle. Strange elemental disturbances lead Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven toward the Enchanted Forest, where they learn more about the conflict between Arendelle and the Northuldra.
A frequent mix-up is counting Elsa as a fifth elemental spirit. Although she has a special connection to the elements—and ultimately becomes the bridge between nature and humanity—she is not counted among the four spirits. The mysterious voice guiding Elsa is also separate from this four-spirit group.
