How many different evolutions does Eevee have in the main Pokémon series?

The story behind the answer

Eevee has eight different evolutions in the main Pokémon series.

These forms are Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. Each evolution has a distinct type and appearance, making Eevee unusual among Pokémon with multiple possible evolutionary outcomes.

The first three evolutions appeared in the original generation: Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon. Espeon and Umbreon arrived in Generation II, while Leafeon and Glaceon debuted in Generation IV. Sylveon was introduced in Generation VI alongside the Fairy type.

Eevee itself is a Normal-type Pokémon. Its branching evolution methods have included elemental stones, friendship, time of day, locations, and knowledge of a Fairy-type move, depending on the form and game.
