The Mugello Circuit has 15 corners. Its full name, Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, is a fast, flowing road course in Tuscany, Italy, and it has been a favourite venue on the motorcycle Grand Prix calendar.
Mugello’s layout combines sweeping bends with short technical sections and a very long start-finish straight. That 1.141-kilometre straight is one of the circuit’s defining features, allowing MotoGP riders to reach very high speeds before braking for San Donato, the opening corner.
The circuit is owned by Ferrari and was developed from a public-road course into a permanent racing facility. It hosted its first motorcycle Grand Prix in 1976 and became a regular Italian Grand Prix venue from 1991, apart from interruptions to the calendar.
The number can be confused because different circuit layouts and counting conventions sometimes produce different figures. For the modern Grand Prix layout used in MotoGP references, the accepted count is 15 turns.
