Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! sold over 3 million copies in their first week.
The two games launched for Nintendo Switch in November 2018 and reimagined the original Kanto adventure. Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are based particularly on Pokémon Yellow, while also incorporating catching mechanics inspired by Pokémon Go.
The Pokémon Company announced the three-million figure on November 22, 2018. Their performance made them the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch titles at that point, reflecting the strength of the Pokémon name and the large installed audience for the franchise.
The games were released as paired editions, with Pikachu or Eevee serving as the featured partner. As in earlier Pokémon releases, version differences encouraged players to trade in order to collect creatures unavailable in their own edition.
