Paris Saint-Germain had won two consecutive UEFA Super Cup titles after winning in 2026. The club first lifted the trophy in 2025 and then defeated Aston Villa 2–1 to retain it in 2026.
Paris's first Super Cup title came against Tottenham Hotspur. The match was drawn after extra time, and Paris won the subsequent penalty shoot-out. A year later, the club faced Aston Villa in Salzburg and won during normal time.
The consecutive victories placed Paris in a small historical group. Before 2026, only AC Milan, in 1989 and 1990, and Real Madrid, in 2016 and 2017, had won back-to-back Super Cups. Paris therefore became the third club to achieve that feat.
This total means consecutive editions, not the club's total number of appearances or every European trophy won. The 2026 success was also Paris Saint-Germain's second Super Cup title overall.
