Gauff dropped the opening set of her first match against Liudmila Samsonova. She then won every set she played afterward, including the sets that carried her through the rest of the draw and into the final.
Her streak ended the tournament with a 6–2, 6–4 victory over Jessica Pegula. The run helped Gauff claim her second Cincinnati title, after her first came in 2023.
A consecutive-set streak counts sets, not matches or games. Because Gauff lost one set at the beginning, the total is not the number of sets she played overall; it is the uninterrupted sequence she produced after that initial dropped set.
