Tiger Woods made 142 consecutive PGA Tour cuts in his record streak.
The run began at the 1998 Buick Invitational and ended when Woods missed the cut at the 2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. It lasted more than seven years and surpassed the previous PGA Tour record of 113 consecutive cuts, set by Byron Nelson.
The total counts consecutive events in which Woods made the cut, not consecutive rounds played under identical tournament conditions. The streak also included several no-cut events, such as World Golf Championships and the TOUR Championship, which the PGA Tour includes in its official record accounting.
Woods’s streak is sometimes compared with records from earlier eras, particularly Nelson’s. Those comparisons require care because tournament schedules and cut policies have changed. Even with that context, 142 remains the PGA Tour’s official benchmark for consecutive cuts made.
