How many colors appear in the classic Google Chrome logo?

The story behind the answer

The classic Google Chrome logo uses four colors.

Its three outer segments are red, yellow, and green, arranged around a blue circular center. The color arrangement echoes Google’s broader visual identity while giving the browser icon a highly recognizable, multicolored form. The segments are separated by curved boundaries that create a pinwheel-like appearance.

Google Chrome was launched in 2008, and its first icon used a glossy three-dimensional style. Google later moved toward flatter and simpler versions, including a 2011 redesign and a flatter 2014 mark. Despite those changes, the core palette remained red, yellow, green, and blue.

The blue center is sometimes counted as a background or treated separately, which can lead to incorrect totals. For the classic logo’s visible palette, however, it is one of the four colors. The icon is also distinct from the circular Google search app mark, despite their shared colors.
