How many children does Kanye West have?

Kanye West has four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm West.

West had all four children with Kim Kardashian. Their first child, North, was born in June 2013, followed by Saint in December 2015. Chicago was born in January 2018, and Psalm was born in May 2019. Chicago and Psalm were born through gestational surrogacy, while North and Saint were carried by Kardashian.

The family’s names have attracted almost as much public attention as West’s music. “North” refers to the idea of North representing the highest point, while Saint’s name was chosen after a difficult pregnancy. Chicago was named after the city where West was raised, even though he was born in Atlanta. Psalm’s name has biblical associations and fits the strong religious themes that appear throughout West’s work.

People sometimes confuse the number because West and Kardashian’s marriage, divorce, custody arrangements, and later relationships have been widely covered. The commonly accepted count refers to West’s four children with Kardashian: two daughters, North and Chicago, and two sons, Saint and Psalm.
