The Phantom is one of Valorant’s two standard assault rifles, alongside the Vandal. Its 30-round magazine gives players enough ammunition for sustained engagements, but firing continuously can make its recoil increasingly difficult to control. Players can reload before the magazine is empty, although doing so at the wrong moment can leave them vulnerable.
The Phantom costs 2,900 credits and is often chosen for its high rate of fire, lower visible muzzle flash, and strong performance at short and medium range. Its damage changes with distance: it is especially effective up close, while the Vandal is more consistent at long range. Neither rifle is automatically “better”; map geometry, engagement distance, and player preference matter.
The 30-round capacity is easy to confuse with the weapon’s total reserve ammunition or with other rifle statistics. The number refers specifically to the bullets loaded in one magazine. A player can carry additional ammunition, but each fresh Phantom magazine still begins with 30 rounds.
