Coldplay have won 9 Brit Awards. Their first came in 2001, when they won British Group and British Album of the Year for Parachutes.
The band continued adding victories across several Brit ceremonies. They won British Group in 2003 and 2012, British Album of the Year for X&Y in 2006, and British Single of the Year for “Speed of Sound” that same year. In 2013, they also won British Live Act.
The number can be confused with Coldplay’s much larger totals from other award organisations, including seven Grammy Awards and numerous MTV, Q, NME and Billboard honours. The Brit total refers specifically to wins at the annual BRIT Awards, not nominations or awards from the wider British music industry.
Coldplay remain among the most successful bands in Brit Awards history, particularly in the British Group and British Album categories.
