Taylor Swift’s song “august” has a studio length of 4:21.
The track appears on Folklore, Swift’s eighth studio album, which was surprise-released on July 24, 2020. Its relatively long runtime gives the song room to build from a hazy, reflective opening into a fuller closing section.
“august” is often described as a dream-pop, guitar-pop, and soft-rock ballad. Its arrangement uses reverb, strings, keyboards, guitars, and layered vocals to create the song’s late-summer atmosphere.
The length refers to the original studio recording, not later live or acoustic versions. Swift performed the song in a medley at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards and later included it in the Eras Tour, where arrangements and performance timing could differ.
