How long is Taylor Swift’s “august” in its original Folklore version?

Taylor Swift’s original Folklore version of “august” lasts 4 minutes and 21 seconds.

The track’s length reflects its expansive arrangement. It begins as a wistful, guitar-led ballad and gradually fills out with reverberant vocals, keyboards, strings, and a larger orchestral climax. That extended closing section gives the recording a cinematic quality rather than ending as a short, compact pop song.

Listeners sometimes mix up its duration with other Folklore tracks. “cardigan” lasts 4 minutes and 11 seconds, while “betty” lasts 4 minutes and 54 seconds. The album’s song lengths vary considerably because Swift and her collaborators used both intimate folk textures and broader pop-oriented production.

The 4:21 duration applies to the original album recording. It should not be confused with live performances, concert recordings, lyric videos, or fan-made edits, which can differ slightly because of introductions, applause, or altered arrangements.
