Guacamole is part of which modern national cuisine?

The story behind the answer

Guacamole is part of which modern national cuisine? Guacamole is part of modern Mexican cuisine.

The dish was first developed in Mexico and remains one of the country’s best-known avocado-based foods. It is used as a dip, condiment, spread, salad component, and accompaniment to dishes such as tacos and other Mexican foods. Its ingredients and preparation vary across regions, so there is no single universal recipe.

Guacamole has deep Mesoamerican roots. Avocados were cultivated in the region thousands of years ago, and the name derives from Classical Nahuatl āhuacamōlli, meaning “avocado sauce.” The dish’s history therefore predates the modern nation-state, even though it is now firmly associated with Mexican cuisine.

International popularity can sometimes blur that origin. Guacamole is common in Tex-Mex and other global food traditions, and versions outside Mexico may include sour cream, peas, or unusual seasonings. Those adaptations make it internationally familiar but do not change its canonical culinary classification.
