"Friends" star, David Schwimmer, graduated from what university?

The story behind the answer

Friends star David Schwimmer graduated from Northwestern University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and graduated in 1988 from Northwestern’s School of Communication.

While at Northwestern, Schwimmer helped establish the Lookingglass Theatre Company with fellow students, including David Catlin. The Chicago-based ensemble became known for inventive stage productions and remained an important part of Schwimmer’s career after college. He also developed the acting and directing experience that shaped his work beyond television.

Schwimmer became internationally famous as Ross Geller on Friends, which premiered in 1994. His Northwestern background is sometimes overlooked because his best-known role is a television sitcom character, but the university’s theater program and Chicago performance scene were foundational to his career. Northwestern is located in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago.
