Franco Escobar was part of Atlanta United FC’s 2018 roster.

The Argentine defender joined Atlanta United from Newell’s Old Boys ahead of the 2018 Major League Soccer season. Primarily a right back who could also play centrally, Escobar became an important member of Atlanta’s defense during the club’s early rise.

The 2018 season was especially notable: Atlanta United won the MLS Cup, defeating the Portland Timbers 2–0 in the final. Escobar’s aggressive defending and willingness to support attacks made him a recognizable figure for the club’s supporters.
