For which Nintendo console were Pokémon Diamond and Pearl first released?
Answer
Nintendo DS
Answer
Nintendo DS
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were first released for the Nintendo DS.
The fourth-generation games launched in Japan on September 28, 2006. They used DS features such as dual screens and wireless communication, while remaining traditional turn-based role-playing games developed by Game Freak.
Diamond and Pearl introduced the Sinnoh region, new Pokémon including the legendary mascots Dialga and Palkia, and expanded online trading and battling. Their connectivity was a major step beyond the local Game Link Cable exchanges of the original Game Boy games.
The games later reached North America on April 22, 2007, followed by other regions. They are sometimes confused with Pokémon Platinum, a later enhanced version for the same console, or with Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Nintendo Switch remakes released in 2021.
