For the United States' 1976 Bicentennial, which graphic designer created the official American Revolution Bicentennial symbol?

The story behind the answer

Bruce Blackburn created the official American Revolution Bicentennial symbol for the United States' 1976 Bicentennial.

The symbol featured a white five-pointed star inside a stylized red, white, and blue star. It was surrounded by the words “American Revolution Bicentennial 1776–1976” in Helvetica.

Blackburn was also known for designing NASA's “worm” logo with Richard Danne. The Bicentennial symbol appeared widely on government buildings, flags, postage stamps, tax forms, trains, and commercial products.

A common mix-up is confusing the Bicentennial symbol with the 1976 NASA logo. They were separate designs created for different purposes, although both became prominent American graphics during the same decade.
