Finish The Lyric: "Walk with me, Arlene, and tell me"?

The story behind the answer

The lyric “Walk with me, Arlene, and tell me” is completed by “Who Do You Love?” in Bo Diddley’s 1956 song of the same name.

Bo Diddley, born Ellas McDaniel, wrote and recorded the song in Chicago on March 24, 1956. Its lyrics use exaggerated boasting, eerie images, and hoodoo-inspired references, giving the song a mysterious edge while keeping it firmly rooted in early rock and roll and rhythm and blues.

The original single was released by Checker Records, a subsidiary of Chess Records, with “I’m Bad” as its B-side. Although Diddley’s recording did not chart, the song became a lasting standard through later versions by artists including Ronnie Hawkins, Quicksilver Messenger Service, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, and the Doors.

Listeners sometimes associate the title primarily with later blues-rock covers, but the lyric and song originate with Bo Diddley’s 1956 composition. That makes “Who Do You Love?” the single canonical answer.
