Finish the lyric from The Doors' 'Light My Fire': 'Come on, baby, light my fire, come on, baby, light my fire, try to set the night...'

The story behind the answer

The Doors' lyric 'Try to set the night...' is completed by 'on fire.'

'Light My Fire' was written by members of The Doors and released in 1967 on the band's self-titled debut album. The song was principally credited to Robby Krieger, with songwriting credits shared among the group because of its collaborative arrangement and performance.

The recording combines psychedelic rock with extended keyboard and guitar passages. Its album version is substantially longer than the edited single, which was shortened for radio. The Doors' lineup featured Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore.

The single became the band's first major hit and topped the US Billboard Hot 100. A later version by José Feliciano also became successful, but the lyric in this question belongs to The Doors' original hit recording.
