Fates Forever, made by Discord's predecessor, was released worldwide on which Apple platform?

The story behind the answer

Fates Forever, made by Discord’s predecessor, was released worldwide on which Apple platform? It was released worldwide on the iPad.

Fates Forever was the first game developed and published by Hammer & Chisel, the studio founded by former OpenFeint executive Jason Citron. The multiplayer online battle arena was designed specifically as a substantial tablet game rather than a simplified companion to a desktop title. It officially launched worldwide on July 3, 2014.

The game’s connection to Discord is historical: members of the Hammer & Chisel team later developed Discord. After Fates Forever failed to build a large lasting audience, the studio shifted its focus from games to communication software. Discord launched in 2015 and became the company’s much more successful product.

The answer is iPad, not iPhone or Mac. Although Apple’s App Store ecosystem includes several device categories, contemporary descriptions of Fates Forever identify its worldwide release as an iPad launch. The game and its supporting community website were later disabled in October 2015.
