Bruce Dickinson is the longtime lead vocalist of which British metal band?
Answer
Iron Maiden
Answer
Iron Maiden
Bruce Dickinson is the longtime lead vocalist of the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden.
Dickinson joined Iron Maiden in 1981 after singing with the British band Samson. His first Iron Maiden album was The Number of the Beast, released in 1982, which became one of the defining records of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
He became known for his powerful, high-ranging voice and energetic stage presence, earning the fan nickname “The Air Raid Siren.” Dickinson left Iron Maiden in 1993 to focus on his solo career, but returned in 1999 alongside guitarist Adrian Smith. He has remained the band’s lead singer since then.
A common mix-up is confusing Dickinson with other famous British metal vocalists. Judas Priest’s best-known singer is Rob Halford, while Def Leppard’s classic vocalist is Joe Elliott. Dickinson has also pursued careers as a pilot, author, broadcaster and solo musician.
