Brothers Taylor, Isaac and Zac make up which band?

Brothers Taylor, Isaac and Zac make up the band Hanson. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, group formed in 1992, when the brothers were still children, and initially performed as the Hanson Brothers before shortening the name to Hanson in 1993.

Hanson became internationally famous with “MMMBop,” a catchy 1997 pop-rock single from their major-label debut album, Middle of Nowhere. Taylor sang and played keyboards, Isaac played guitar, and Zac played drums, although all three brothers contributed vocals and songwriting.

The band’s youthful appearance sometimes led listeners to assume Hanson was a manufactured teen act, but the brothers had already been performing and recording together for several years. They released independent music before signing with Mercury Records and later established their own label, 3CG Records.

A common mix-up is confusing the group’s name with the surname of its members: the band is Hanson, while the brothers are Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson and Zac Hanson. Their best-known hit remains “MMMBop,” but the trio has continued recording and touring well beyond the 1990s.
