Blake Griffin's older brother, Taylor, played one season with the Phoenix Suns in 2009–10.
Taylor Griffin entered the NBA after the Suns selected him 48th overall in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft. The small forward had starred at the University of Oklahoma, where he played alongside his younger brother Blake during the 2008–09 season.
Griffin appeared in only eight regular-season games for Phoenix, averaging 1.3 points in about four minutes per game. He spent much of the season outside the active rotation, so casual NBA fans may not remember him as part of the Suns’ roster.
The 2009–10 Suns, led by Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire, reached the Western Conference finals. Phoenix waived Griffin in July 2010, and he later played professionally overseas and in the NBA Development League. Blake Griffin, meanwhile, became the first overall pick in the 2009 draft and an NBA All-Star.
